Outsmarting Poison Ivy and Its Cousins
Some good information from the FDA, even though it was written in 1996. Poison ivy isn't contagious - no one can get it by touching you once you've washed it off your skin. But the first thing you should do is rinse your skin with rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol. And I have had good luck with Zanfel, an over-the-counter treatment that has come out in the last few years. It's expensive though - Elisabeth
